Q&A with Harry & Zoe - get to know us

Hi there, Harry and Zoe here!

We thought we’d do a quick get to know us Q&A of all our most frequently asked questions so they’re all in one place. If you want more, we’ve linked a few of our previous Q&A videos at the bottom of the post too!

How did you meet?

We met back in 2013 through mutual friends (when we were both 15 years old) and we’ve been together ever since. At the time, we lived a long way away from each other (Harry in Birmingham and Zoe near Reading) and then we ended up going to separate universities, but for over a year now we’ve lived together in Wales.

What’s the first coaster you rode together?

Nemesis Inferno at Thorpe Park. When we first met, Zoe was terrified of roller coasters and had only been on Colossus at Thorpe Park which she found really painful to ride. So, Harry took her on Nemesis Inferno (which was a lot smoother) to try and help her overcome the fear. It took a few more coasters, but eventually it worked and she’s far from being scared of coasters now!

What’s the best day you’ve ever had at a park?

When we visited Paultons Park for the first time in July 2020 (after the first UK Covid-19 lockdown) we had a fantastic day. The park really exceeded all our expectations, the weather was perfect and we loved exploring a new park. Maybe it was partly the joy of being at a park again after a long lockdown, but we had such a great day at Pautons and can’t wait to go back soon.

What’s top of your bucket list?

In terms of theme parks, top of both our lists has got to be Tokyo DisneySea. It looks incredible and we all know how much Zoe loves a Disney park. Cedar Point and Efteling are also up there too. We’ve talked more about our bucket lists in this previous blog post.

If you could work for any coaster company, which one would it be?

Zoe would choose RMC. It seems like a really cool and interesting manufacturer to work for and the process of building an RMC would be pretty amazing to watch - it’s so unique. Harry would go for Gerstlauer because they’re so different and he’d love to see how the company works from the inside.

When will you go to America?

This is probably our most-asked question. We’d absolutely love to go to America! There are so many parks we’d love to get to out there, as well as loads of non-coaster related things we want to do. But because it would be a huge trip (we probably won’t even be able to do everything we want to do in one go) we’re saving lots and taking our time planning for it. It’s definitely on our list of top places to go in the next few years.

Glasses on or off for a coaster?

When we visit a park, Harry wears contact lenses all day. It’s actually the only time he wears them, purely for the ease of not having to deal with glasses and so that he can actually see when he’s on a ride!

Which country would you both love to visit?

We’d absolutely love to visit Japan. It’s such a beautiful country and there are so many places there we’d love to get to (not to mention the coasters). The trip would be another huge one, just like America, but Japan is definitely somewhere we’re hoping to get to ASAP.
