Our Theme Park Bucket List

Bucket lists! We feel like our theme park bucket list has grown twice as long during lockdown because we’re so keen to get back out into the world and travel to some new parks. There are so many amazing places we want to get to eventually, but for this post we’ve narrowed our theme park bucket lists down to our top three each.

HARRY

The Floridian Parks

Grouping all of these parks together into one is a bit of a cop-out, but I’d love to visit all the Floridian parks (and let’s face it they basically come as a package deal). It looks like there’s a really wide variety of different rides to experience across all the parks, and there’s so much to do all in one place; you’d need a couple of weeks to properly experience everything on offer in Florida! There’s the Disney parks, Universal parks, Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando - the place has both quality and quantity. It’s an enthusiast’s dream, especially if you’re really into theming like I am.

Cedar Point

This is an absolute must-do park in terms of roller coasters. There are so many great coasters to experience at Cedar Point and people rave about all of them! I suppose deep down I just want to see if this place is as good as people say it is and whether it lives up to the hype. Is Steel Vengeance truly the world’s best roller coaster? Obviously there’s not much in the way of theming at Cedar Point, but it’s not really about that. I thought I’d include it in my list because the other parks I’ve mentioned are heavy on theming (I’d also add Tokyo DisneySea to this list but Zoe stole it for her’s first). Cedar Point is park filled with rides focused on pure adrenaline and thrills with some truly record breaking and historic rides.

Six Flags Magic Mountain

I’m not going to lie, adding this park to the list is purely for X2. I don’t know what it is about that ride, but I’m absolutely captivated by it. Before I rode Kärnan at Hansa Park I was obsessed with that coaster (I still am to be honest) and, ever since, a new obsession has developed with the world’s first 4D coaster: X2. Obviously, like Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain is a roller coaster heaven. It’s home to so many awesome rides like Tatsu and Twisted Colossus, as well as truly historic rides like the New Revolution. It’s up there in terms of my bucket list parks purely because it’s a park I’ve known about since I was a kid. Even before I became an enthusiast I wanted to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain!

Tokyo DisneySea

As a huge Disney nerd, it pains me to admit that the only Disney park I’ve visited so far is Disneyland Paris. Don’t get me wrong, I love Disneyland Paris, and it’s close enough to the UK that I can experience the Disney magic without getting on a long-haul flight. But obviously there are plenty of other Disney parks that I’d love to get to visit in the future. Top of my Disney park bucket list has got to be Tokyo DisneySea. The park looks absolutely beautiful and seems to have a really different vibe. They are also constructing a brand new Tangled land featuring a Tangled boat ride with floating lanterns (which is my absolute dream because it’s my favourite film). Of course, I’d love to visit Disney World in Florida and the original Disneyland park in Anaheim - but I think Tokyo DisneySea is just about at the top of my bucket list when it comes to Disney parks.

Efteling

This park actually shouldn’t be on this list because we had a trip planned to visit the Efteling in April 2020. But due to coronavirus we weren’t able to travel, so the park remains on my bucket list for now! I’m really into beautifully themed parks with a magical vibe (much like Disney) which is why I really can’t wait to visit the Efteling. It looks absolutely stunning and very different to other theme parks. I have to admit, I’m not entirely sure of the rides they have at the park, I’m mostly interested in the theming and general vibes. I can’t wait to explore the park and see what they have to offer and I think it would be a great park to visit in the festive season to get in the mood for Christmas (hopefully we can do this in the future). It seems like a park I will really love.

Tivoli Gardens

This one is the park I know the least about if I’m being honest! But it looks so beautiful and it’s in Scandinavia - it’s bound to be incredible. One of my favourite parks worldwide is Liseberg in Sweden, and Tivoli Gardens gives me lots of Liseberg vibes from looking at the photos. I absolutely love travelling to Scandinavian countries and I’m dying to visit Copenhagen as a city, which is why this park is on my bucket list! I read that it’s one of the oldest remaining theme parks (which is really exciting) and it looks so stunning lit up at night time. It just seems like another park that will be right up my street!
