Planet Coaster Bot Competition

With everything going on in the world at the moment we wanted to create some new content for the channel, not only as a distraction from the news but also as something that will bring us all together. One of our discord moderators, Cal, came up with the great idea to hold a Planet Coaster competition in which you enter your creations and we judge them to crown a winner. So over the next week, with Cal’s help, we will be holding a Planco competition!

The Details

To enter, singular people or teams of up to four must create and submit a themed area in Planet Coaster together. The themed area should meet the requirements listed below and should include at least one roller coaster and two other rides. It’s totally up to you as to how you want to theme and decorate the area - the more creative the better! But, bear in mind, the coasters and rides should be realistic too! We’d love to see really detailed, realistic yet out-of-the-box areas.

The deadline for entries is the 26th March at midnight. You can submit your themed area using the form at the bottom of this page. All you need to do is include a link to your steam workshop file so we can view your area in game for ourselves. Make sure you build using our base map design (which can be found below) and stick to the requirements listed below or your entry won’t count.

All entries will be judged by Cal’s team who will whittle them down to a shortlist of the best themed areas. The entries that make it into the shortlist will then be viewed by us (Harry & Zoe) and we will be filming our reactions to them, showcasing the areas, deciding on our top 5 and revealing the winner! This will all be released in a video on the channel on the 29th March.

Get started!

To get started, download our base map by clicking on the button below and then you can start creating your themed area with your team.

How do I download and upload to the steam workshop?

Downloading our base map is easy. Click on the button above, sign into steam, and click the button that says 'subscribe'. Stream will download the map for you and then next time you launch Planet Coaster click ‘Play', head to 'My Parks' and you'll find the map saved under the 'Downloads' tab.

Once you're happy with your themed area save it as a new sandbox park. Head back to the 'My Parks' section of the title screen and locate your saved map. Hover over it and click 'Upload to Workshop'. Click 'new workshop item' and give your area a name and brief description, then click 'Create Workshop Item'. Once uploaded a new box will open showing your saved area. Click the 'Share' button, then copy and paste the shown link into the submission form at the bottom of this blog post - job done!

We hope you all enjoy working together to create some really unique themed areas and have fun together. The parks may be shut during these uncertain times, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get together as a community - we just need to find ways to do that virtually!

Submit your entry

Once you’ve created your area, your team can enter the competition below by filling out the form. Please ensure there is only one entry made per team.

Deadline for entries is 26th March at midnight.

Good luck to all the teams! We can’t wait to see what you create.
