Office / Video Studio Tour - Coaster Bot HQ

Most people have a spare/guest bedroom in their house. Not us. Our second bedroom is set up as Coaster Bot HQ and it’s the room Harry spends most of his time in. Over the past year of living here we’ve added bits and pieces to this room to make it a more effective place to work on videos and pack merch orders. We wanted to give you a tour of the office and show you some of the tech that Harry uses to make and edit videos, as well as our organisation system for the Coaster Bot merch.

On one side of the room is the desk area. Harry’s set up has been pretty much the same for ages now. Over the years he’s updated parts of his custom built PC.

Monitors: 2 AOC 1080p Monitors

The monitors are really old now so they might not even be available to purchse online. For now they’re great but in the future he’d like to replace them with 4k versions.

The PC has been built and upgraded over the years - it’s an ongoing project! It’s a small PC considering its power. Harry wanted it to be small so it wouldn’t take up too much room but didn’t want to compromise on the spec.

Keyboard: Logitech G413 Silver*

Mouse: Logitech MX Master 2S*

Headset: Logitech G35

One of Harry’s favourite investments is his keyboard - it’s a really neat, compact design for a gaming keyboard and he likes the way the keys travel (it’s very clicky and satisfying). The mouse is really comfortable for use over prolonged periods of editing/gaming and the battery lasts for weeks!

Mic: Blue Yeti*

Mic stand: HAUEA Adjustable Micrphone Stand*

Mic cover: MINTHE Foam Mic Cover*

For producing Coaster Bot videos and recording our weekly podcast it’s important that we have a good microphone. The Blue Yeti has served us very well and we’ve had it for years. We also love the flexibility of having the mic on an adjustable arm so we can move it anywhere we need it to to be.

In terms of editing software, we use the Adobe suite for everything - from video editing to making social media graphics. Programs like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and Audition.

Camera: Panasonic Lumix G7*

Camera Mic: Rode Video Mic*

The other piece of tech which is needed to produce Coaster Bot videos is a camera. Currently Harry uses the Panasonic Lumix G7. When he bought it it was one of the most reasonably priced mirrorless cameras that shot 4k, so you get the quality of bigger cameras without the bulkiness. Perfect for taking to parks! He pairs it with the Rode mic for quality audio in his vlogs and sit down videos.

On the other side of the room is our merch storage. We invested in an Ikea Billy bookcase and some Tjena storage boxes to house all of our stock because we have so much of it now!

It’s great for keeping the merch organised and makes the process of packaging orders much more efficient. It also looks a lot neater than a cardboard box which we had before!

We also found some little drawers which are perfect for storing all our pin badges and stickers.

The office has turned out to be a really great space for us to work on videos and sort merch orders. It’s a shame our guests have to sleep on a mattress on the floor as a result!

We’ve got some great tech and equipment that aids us in making quality videos and content for the channel. If you have any questions about anything we’d be more than happy to answer them!
